You are Here:
(7 Steps)
1. ACKNOWLEDGE YOU ARE A SINNER
2. RECOGNIZE SIN IN YOUR LIFE
3. REPENT
4. CONFESS
5. FORSAKE
6. BELIEVE
7. ACCEPT
ACKNOWLEDGE - Admit you are a sinner.
Be honest with yourself. You and God know the real truth.
WHAT IS YOUR SINS? All unrighteousness. Romans 3:23, For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
REPENT - What is repentance? To repent is to be Godly sorry, sorry enough to quit wrong doings. Acts 3:19, Repent ye therefore, and be converted that your sins may be blotted out
CONFESS - Confession means to admit, own up to and reveal your sins to God.
1 John 1:19, If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
FORSAKE - This means to forsake, quit, give up and leave worldly and sinful things alone once and for all; be willing for God to take all desire for sin away from you. Isaiah 55:7, Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him: and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
BELIEVE - This means you must believe in God and totally rely on Him. You must have faith and confidence in Him and be willing to put yourself into the hands of GOD. Romans 10:9, If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Acts 16:31, And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house. (This means your very own family)
ACCEPT -You must accept the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior. Accept means to take, receive or welcome Jesus into your life and heart. John 1:12, but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
John 6:37, All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me, and him that cometh to Me I will in wise cast out. Christ must be received personally into the heart by faith, if the experience of a new birth is to be yours.
Rev. 3:20, Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man (this means you) hear my voice and open the door, I will come unto him and will sup (abide) with him and he with Me.
Luke 2:8, Whosoever shall confess Me before men, him shall the son of man also confess before the angels of God.
HOW TO BE SANCTIFIED
John 17:17, Sanctify them through thy WORD
.
You are now a CHILD of GOD and it is the will of God for you to become SANCTIFIED as stated in
1 Thes. 4:3, "For this is the will of God even your SANCTIFICATION."
SANCTIFICATION means CLEANSING from ones SINS.
SEPARATION from the world, its lusts and defilement.
SETTING ASIDE yourself for the service of God.
This is not only a definite and instantaneous word of Grace; but also a continual process necessary for our spiritual growth.
A set apart life for Christ will help you secure your Sanctification.
The Specific roles of the God Head in our Sanctification:
GOD THE FATHER - Jude 1:1
to them that are SANCTIFIED by GOD The Father and preserved in Jesus Christ.
CHRIST THE SON - Heb. 13:12, Wherefore JESUS also, that he might SANCTIFY the people through suffering with His own blood.
THE HOLY SPIRIT - II Thes. 2:13
because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through SANCTIFICATION of the SPIRIT and belief of the truth.
THE BLOOD - I John 1:7, and the BLOOD of Jesus Christ, His son CLEANSES US from all sin.
THE HOLY WORD (BIBLE) - Eph. 5:26
that He might SANCTIFY it with the washing of water by the WORD.
WHAT IS REQUIRED OF YOU IN ORDER TO BE SAVED?
I Thes. 4:3, 4. This is the will of God even your SANCIFICATION
Isaiah 1:16, Wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do well.
SANCTIFICATION is something that we must pursue, or seek earnestly if we are to obtain salvation. While it is God's work that we have our part in it; to make it the object of our earnest desire and pursuit.
We attain SANCTIFICATION through presenting our members as servants (literally slaves) to righteousness and becoming ourselves bondservants unto God. We are not our
Own. We were bought by the blood of JESUS CHRIST.
